Last July in the spirit of bayanihan, SEO Philippines founder Marc Macalua, organized the 3rd SEO keyword ranking contest in the Philippines and the first ever Social SEO contest. You just have to create a website that will land on the first 100 results of popular search engines for the keyword paradise philippines for a chance to win fabulous prizes worth PhP600,000! Details and rules of the paradise philippines contest can be found in the Bayanihan SEO site.
Day 1 of the contest immediately heats up when experienced Pinoy SEOs showed their talents in both white, grey and black hats SEO techniques. Popular and yet smart move is to get all domains pertaining to Paradise Philippines, get all possible subdomains on every blogging services (from blogspot.com to wordpress.com, up to freehostia.com) pertaining to again Paradise Philippines keywords. I jumped the bandwagon with these “ruthless” SEOers and immediately secured my Paradise Philippines blogs. But work again gets on its way.

Now three (3) months have passed and i noticed that the used to be aggesive participants have gone and are being replaced by good old websites brandishing the keyphrase paradise philippines. I am always tempted to flood my website with keywords paradise philippines. But I won’t succumb to this temptation. I have made up my mind and the keywords paradise philippines shall only be seen here in this post. Why is this? I have recently installed firestats wordpress plugin (I’ll have my own article about Firestat as I am still evaluating it) in my blog to monitor my site activities off-page and on-page. I noticed that most of my articles in my blog made it in top 10 SERPs with its targeted keywords and keyphrases. Not bad, huh? What does that mean? It means my site is being regularly crawled by Search Engine Bots, Spiders and Slurpees. So, that’s the reason why I will let this article do its stuff and befriend those webcrawlers hoping that I will position myself in SERPs. And I will monitor the progress in my firestats page.

So with fingers crossed, let the game begins!!!
